Larry Wilson: Producer/Performer
Is Larry the funniest magician in the world, or simply an inspired
comedian who uses magic to serve his hilarious purposes? The Hollywood
Reporter wrote, "Wilson presents the tightest, most consistently funny
spoof of a traditional magic act." Just don't tell that to the Academy
of Magical Arts, which nominated Larry as Stage Magician of the Year
three years running.
Larry's first Emmy nomination as a comedy performer led to
hundreds of television appearances, which in turn have paved the way
for live performances as an opening act for the likes of Ann-Margret,
Sammy Davis, Jr., The Pointer Sisters, Smokey Robinson and many others
in the main showrooms of the largest casino hotels in the world.
With his razor sharp wit and keen ability to ad-lib in any
situation Larry carves a new path in re-creating the magician as
comedian. As other performers followed behind him, Larry moved on to
producing his own shows. He began with his own Famous Magicians' School for Showtime Cable and then to his comedy revue, Just Add Water for Caesar's Tahoe, quickly followed by his new wave variety show, The Super Heroes of Comedy,
which has enjoyed great success at Harvey's Lake Tahoe, the Flamingo
Hilton in Laughlin, and at corporate events in Atlanta, New Orleans,
Los Angeles, and Catalina Island. Last year he produced and starred in
his own television special for PAXtv called Madcap Magic.
Daily Variety put it best when they said, "Wilson takes standard
illusionist banter and twists it for unexpected, laugh-filled results.
He proves himself a fine main room act indeed."
